Chuckworks was founded when I started making my own RC models. Mostly airplanes. I had always been into RC cars since I was little. My first hobby grade RC car was a Tamiya Blackfoot. I even raced a heavily modified version at my local race track. I just progressed from there. This lead to years of RC fun. Lots of airplanes and helicopters. And tons of RC cars.

I had been working and designing a RC camera ship. A big helicopter. Big enough to lift a film camera. While working on that project. The Traxxas Slash came out. I knew they would be huge when I saw one. I bought one of the first deliveries at my local hobby shop. Shortly after Traxxas released the Slash HPI dropped their truck. It handled so much better. And we all knew why. The Slash had a very high CG. Rather than buy a new truck to try and keep up with my friends. I decided to try and design a new chassis for the my Slash. And since all the trucks were very tail heavy. I made mine midmotor. This made the truck awesome. It handled so much better. A couple of the my Slash buddies asked me to make them one.

I was still working on my camera ship heli. But then the Drones really hit the scene. And it became apparent. They were gonna take over future RC camera ships. I started thinking about trying to make a kit of my Slash chassis. I put together 6 kits. All parts and instructions. And I listed them on Ebay. I sold them all in a few weeks. So made more. I started selling 8 to 10 a month. Good Start! Then the big wave came. A popular RC site called RC SOUP They did a aftermartket chassis shoot out. Mine and two most popular ones out there. Mine was the only Mid Motor. All their dives picked my chassis as the best. And. mine was far cheaper in cost. I started selling almost 60 chassis a month. For Months! That gave me the kick start I needed. For the next 10 years. I sold between 16 to 40 chassis a month. All made by me. Chuck. I made every single part.
